CCC Game Studio Showcase

Objective: Design a printed publication for Columbia College Chicago’s School of Design, highlighting the Game Studio Showcase for the graduating class of 2025.

Role: publication design, art/creative direction

Tools: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Microsoft Teams (communication)

This project was part of a competitive, limited-enrollment capstone course that partnered students with real clients to produce professional-level design work. Each publication was distributed at the college’s end-of-year festival.

Alongside my project partner, I co-led the design and development of a publication celebrating the graduating game design class and showcasing their work to industry professionals. We incorporated gameplay screenshots, character designs, and other assets provided by each group of students to create unique layouts that reflected the individual style and spirit of their games.

The final publication, distributed at the college’s end-of-year festival, served as a keepsake for students, a promotional tool for the department, and a professional portfolio catalog.

Planning and ideation

As a collaborative, professional project, we began by exchanging ideas for layout, color, and typography. This video highlights the options I presented for our first draft, and we ultimately moved forward with my color palette and type choices for the final publication. I chose black pages to let the game art stand out, paired with a bold neon stroke on each screenshot for contrast.
