Objective: Write and design a book based on any 15 books you have read throughout your life. Find a way to connect all of the books and represent that in your designs.

Role: book design, layout design

This project was a chaotic labor of love. When I was told to design an entire book based on 15 books I’ve read, the first challenge was... remembering 15 books I’ve actually read. (most came from childhood reading logs and required school assignments.) I never really loved reading, but I did love the unhinged moments tucked into those stories. so that’s what I ran with.

oops! all chaos! has a children’s book–inspired design that rates each story on a custom chaos scale, with texture doing the heavy lifting. The more chaotic the plot, the more the pages spiral visually. Each spread is louder, messier, and fully unhinged.

Plus, every page is narrated with a healthy dose of sass and snark because chaos deserves commentary. It’s cute. It’s dramatic. It’s basically my childhood bookshelf in meltdown mode, perfectly representative of me.
