Garfield Park Conservatory
Objective: Over the course of 10 weeks, this project involved selecting a real-world location, conducting site visits, and using first-hand observations and original photography to develop a comprehensive rebrand.
Role: Rebranding, logo design, environmental design
Tools: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
The Garfield Park Conservatory is one of the largest and most historic botanical conservatories in the U.S. During my visits, I was drawn to the intricate patterns found throughout the environment—patterns that became the foundation for my rebrand and wayfinding system.
I aimed to create a visual language that reflects the conservatory’s organic, playful spirit while improving clarity and navigation. Using a minimal, black and white only color palette, the design lets the colorful environment remain the focus. Warning signs are kept in color for visibility, while abstract lines and natural patterns add movement and curiosity.
